Egg Hunt...Finally!

Since we've had cold wet weather since just before Easter the children at church haven't had their egg hunt yet. Finally, yesterday was the big day. AJ has been asking for days if it was time to hunt eggs yet. We had an over abundance of eggs at church and just an empty field, so yesterday the youth group went out and scattered the eggs all over the field and we let the kids go.

JM needed a little bit of encouragement and then I turned around to see how AJ was doing and his basket was OVERFLOWING!! Little Buddy, one of Mama Lily's, kept putting his eggs in JM's basket. They all got plenty of eggs and Peanut had fun looking at them.

My Crafting

I had my 24 week appointment today. Everything is looking good although I'm carrying rather high. Th midwife said all is well and see you in four weeks. I also have to get my lovely rhogam shot before the next visit and drink my glucose drink. I guess it's getting busy in there. :)
For the last year or so I've been buying throw pillows at yard sales. None of them were very attractive but I had visions of their future glory. This week I've finished five of them. I have five more to go. Not all of them go on my couch but the living room is their main destination. Here's how they are turning out so far. The circle one actually wasn't that hard. I used my dad's protractor, compass, and ruler....and some rather rusty geometry to figure out how big the pieces should be. The one that was the most trouble was the square ones with the ribbon through the middle. ARGH!! Next time I will definitely do them different. But they turned out okay and they all match. I love how it's coming together. There are two large blue square ones in the back. I'll post a picture of them all finished.

Peanut's 1st Birthday Party

Sunday was Peanut's first birthday party. It was just family and friends. We had yummilicious cake from our famous Aunt. Since Peanut's so small mostly what she needed was clothes. AJ was quite disappointed in her presents. Mommy and Sarah loved all her new outfits though. Looks like we'll get to enjoy the girl for awhile since it's a baby boy joining us in August.
This was Peanut's first adventure with adult food. I was going to let her touch the cake but when she saw it she was so excited she started kicking. She planted her foot right in the side of the cake. It was covered with icing. She wasn't sure at first if it was something that she was going to like. Mommy helped her get it off her toes, and then she got her own plate. :)

After all that she was ready for a nap. Since Sunday she has cut 2 more teeth. What a big girl!
